Miami, Florida Keys & Florida Beaches Fly-Drive holiday

SUGGESTED ITINERARY

Day 1 - UK to Miami

Fly from London to Miami, arriving later that day - departures from other UK airports are also available, of course. On arrival make your way to your chosen hotel, for a three night stay - our holidays are very flexible so your durations can be tailored to suit your exact requirements!

Days 2-3 - Miami

Enjoy getting to know Miami better over the coming few days. Soak up the sultry atmosphere of this hypnotic city, starting with the art deco architecture of South Beach - it’s the world’s largest concentration of art deco buildings, with over 1200 examples. This area is great for people-watching too!

Day 4 - Miami to Key Largo

Collect your rental car from the Miami Airport depot, and head towards the Florida Keys. Start in Key Largo (approx 70 miles / 1 hour 30 mins, plus stops) but it’s well worth starting your Southern Florida fly-drive by heading inland to the Everglades (a detour of approx 50 miles / 1 hour) where tours through the unique wetlands from Shark Valley are fascinating. On arrival in to Key Largo check in to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 5 - Key Largo to Key West

Continue through the Florida Keys from Key Largo to Key West (approx 100 miles / 2 hours, plus stops) travelling via Marathon and the Seven Mile Bridge. On arrival in to Key West check in to your hotel for a two night stay.

Day 6 - Key West

Spend the day exploring Key West, with its very different feel to the mainland. Take in historic mansions, amazing underwater scenery and raucous nightlife, with a photo stop at the Southernmost Point Marker.

Day 7 - Key West to the Florida Beaches

From the islands of the Florida Keys head north to the beaches of mainland Florida. From Key West drive to Fort Lauderdale (approx 190 miles / 3 hour 45 mins, plus stops), or onwards (up to approx 50 miles / 1 hour) to resorts such as Boca Raton, Delray Beach,Palm Beach and Singer Island. Check in to your hotel for a three night stay.

Days 8-9 - Florida Beaches

Spend the next few days relaxing on the beach or exploring the local area with your car. Each of the beach resorts has a different atmosphere sop pick the right one for you - Fort Lauderdale has an air of sophistication with its museums and cafes, Palm Beach is yachts and mansions, while West Palm Beach parties hard and is cool & groovy.

Day 10 - Return

Drive back to Miami airport, drop off your rental car at the airport depot and check in for your return flight to the UK, arriving the next day.

After a few nights discovering the charms of Miami collect your car and head to the Florida Keys, taking in Key Largo and Key West, then on to the beaches north of Miami.
