SUGGESTED ITINERARY
Day 1 - UK to Kuala Lumpur
Fly from Heathrow to Kuala Lumpur, arriving the following day. Departures from other UK airports are also available, please ask for details.
Day 2 - Kuala Lumpur
On arrival in to Kuala Lumpur you'll be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel, for a three night stay. Durations in all locations are flexible, so you can stay for as long as you wish!
Days 3-4 - Kuala Lumpur
Spend the next few days exploring Kuala Lumpur. A great place to start is the iconic Petronas Towers, with great views from the Skydeck on the 41st floor or the observation decks on the 86th floor - for us the Skydeck is quite high enough!
Day 5 - Kuala Lumpur to Malacca
Today is a road transfer of around two hours to the historic town of Malacca. In its day Malacca was one of the greatest trading ports in the world, and became known as the ‘Pearl of the Orient’. The historic centre was given UNESCO World heritage listing in 2008, and there’s plenty to see here. Check in to your chosen hotel for a two night stay.
Day 6 - Malacca
Spend the day exploring fascinating Malacca. The historic town centre is packed with interest, and we’d suggest starting at Malacca’s most recognisable landmark, the Stadthuys building. Take in the churches, the ruined fort and other historic sights. Malacca is also home to some amazing cuisine, so head to Jonkers Street to sample it - this area is packed at the weekend.
Day 7 - Malacca to Penang
Transfer back to Kuala Lumpur airport for your flight to Penang. On arrival you’ll be met and transferred to your chosen hotel, for a seven night stay. We think it’s very important that we have fist-hand experience of the destinations we feature, so we visit them as much as we can to give you the best advice!
Days 8-13 - Penang
Beach time in Penang! Relax at your hotel or explore this fascinating island a little - we’d really recommend heading in to historic George Town at some point during your stay, to check out the fascinating architecture and unique atmosphere.
Day 14 - Penang to UK
Return transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
Malacca is a real highlight of a trip to Malaysia, with its unique history and culture. This itinerary includes two nights in the UNESCO-listed city, along with time in both Kuala Lumpur and Penang, for a truly Malaysian holiday.
