SAMPLE ITINERARY
Day 1 UK to Cairo
Fly from Heathrow to Cairo. On arrival transfer to the Mövenpick MS Hamees and spend your first night on board this stylish vessel in Cairo.
Day 2 Cairo
Awake in enchanting Cairo for breakfast, before a visit to the Egyptian Museum and Pyramids, where lunch will be served. You will have the rest of the evening at leisure, before dinner and overnight on board the Mövenpick MS Hamees.
Day 3 Cairo to Beni Suef
Set sail from Cairo up the Nile, spending all day to reach Beni Suef.
Day 4 Fayoum
Today, visit Fayoum after breakfast to view the Hawara Pyramids and Maydom. Return to the Mövenpick MS Hamees, where you will have the evening free, with dinner and an overnight stay on board.
Day 5 Beni Suef to El Minya
Depart Beni Suef for the sail south to El Minya, arriving later that day.
Day 6 El Minya
Drive from El Minya to Beni Hasan to visit the captivating tombs of Baget III, Khety, Amenemhet and Khnumhotep. Return to the boat for lunch. After lunch visit Tuna El Gebel for the tombs of Petosiris and Isadora. From Tuna El Gebel, drive to El Ashmunein for a trip to an open air museum, then on to the sacred catacombs of Thoth and the sanctuary of Amun. Retun to the boat for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 7 El Minya to El Amarna
Sail to El Amarna. After lunch, visit the El Amarna site, where you can observe many of the Northern Tombs, including those of Ahmose and Pentu, as well as the Royal Palace and tomb of Akhenaten. Sail to Asyuit.
Day 8 Asyuit to El Balyana
Today you will spend the day relaxing, as you journey from Asyuit to Sohag, and on to El Balyana, with breakfast, lunch and dinner on board. Here, you will dock overnight.
Day 9 Abydos
Travel to the Temple of Abydos by road, known as one of the most important archaeological sites of Ancient Egypt, and the resting place of the head of the Egyptian God Osiris. Continue to Nag Hammadi to rejoin the boat. Continue to Qena for overnight.
Day 10 Dendera to Luxor
Travel by road to the Dendera Temple, before returning to the boat to cruise to Luxor. Enjoy lunch and dinner on board before your overnight stay in the port of Luxor.
Day 11 Luxor
Wake up to breakfast with the glorious sights of Luxor, and spend your day on the West Bank. Here, you can wander in the shadows of the Valley of the Kings and the Colossi of Memnon and enjoy lunch and dinner on board before your overnight stay in the port of Luxor.
Day 12 Luxor to Edfu
After breakfast, enjoy a morning cruise to the East Bank, with sights to include the Karnak temple, as well as the temple of Luxor. In the afternoon,
set sail for the Egyptian city of Edfu on the West Bank of the River Nile, and enjoy an overnight stay.
Day 13 Edfu to Kom Ombo
After breakfast, you will have the opportunity to
visit the Temple of Horus, before embarking on a journey to
the unusual temple of Kom Ombo, then on to Aswan with
an overnight stay.
Day 14 Aswan
Awake in the charming city of Aswan, where you will visit the High Dam and temple of Philae. From here, you will visit the Nubian Museum, before returning for an overnight stay.
Day 15 Aswan to UK
Today, you will have the opportunity to visit Abu Simbel, or enjoy the morning at leisure. In the afternoon, disembark from the ship. From here, you can transfer to the airport, or choose to extend your trip.
