An extraordinary journey along the Nile from Luxor, to Cairo, taking in this little-visited region, followed by a week of relaxation on the shores of the Red Sea in Sharm el Sheikh. Available from April to October.

Day 1 UK to Luxor
Fly from Heathrow to Luxor. On arrival transfer to the Mövenpick MS Hamees and spend your first night on board this stylish vessel in the port of Luxor.

Day 2 Luxor
Wake up to breakfast with the glorious sights of Luxor, and spend your day on the West Bank. Here, you can wander in the shadows of the Valley of the Kings and the Colossi of Memnon and enjoy lunch and dinner on board before your overnight stay in the port of Luxor.

Day 3 Luxor to Dendera
After breakfast, enjoy a morning cruise to the East Bank, with sights to include the Karnak temple, as well as the temple of Luxor, before sailing on to the market town of Qena to enjoy lunch. In the early afternoon, you will voyage to the Dendera Temple, where you will spend the rest of the evening, with dinner and overnight.

Day 4 Dendera to Sohag
Set sail in the early morning to Nag Hammadi and travel to the Temple of Abydos by road, known as one of the most important archaeological sites of Ancient Egypt, and the resting place of the head of the Egyptian God Osiris. After lunch, continue your journey to Sohag via Abu Homar and enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5 Asyuit
Today you will spend the day relaxing, as you journey to Asyuit with breakfast, lunch and dinner on board. Here, you will dock overnight.

Day 6 Asyuit to El Minya
Savour a delightful breakfast on board, before spending the morning in El Amarna, where you can observe many of the Northern Tombs, including those of Ahmose and Pentu, as well as the Royal Palace and tomb of Akhenaten. Sail to Malawi after lunch and visit Tuna El Gebel for the tombs of Petosiris and Isadora. From Tuna El Gebel, drive to El Ashmunein for a trip to an open air museum, then on to the sacred catacombs of Thoth and the sanctuary of Amun. From here, you will proceed to El Minya for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7 Beni Hasan to Beni Suef
Sail to Beni Hasan before breakfast, to visit the captivating tombs of Baget III, Khety, Amenemhet and Khnumhotep. Before lunch, you will head to Beni Suef with the afternoon at leisure with dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 8 Fayoum to Cairo
Today, visit Fayoum after breakfast to view the Hawara Pyramids and Maydom, then on to Al Wasta. From here, you will travel to the Egyptian capital of Cairo, where you will have the evening free, with dinner and an overnight stay on board.

Day 9 Cairo
Awake in enchanting Cairo for breakfast, before a visit to the Egyptian Museum and Pyramids, where lunch will be served. You will have the rest of the evening at leisure, before your final dinner and overnight on board the Mövenpick MS Hamees.

Day 10 Cairo to Sharm el Sheikh
Awake in Cairo, for your final breakfast, followed by disembarkation from the ship. From here, you can transfer to the airport for the short flight to Sharm el Sheikh, where you'll be met and transferred to your hotel for a seven night stay. Prices are based on the Novotel Sharm el Sheikh on a Bed & Breakfast basis, with a range of other hotels also available. Different durations are also possible.

Days 11-16 Sharm el Sheikh
Spend a further six nights in Sharm, exploring the wonders of this Red Sea resort both under water and on dry land!

Day 17 Sharm el Sheikh to UK
Transfer to Sharm airport for the return flight to Heathrow, via Cairo.
