The Beaches of the Indian Ocean
Kenya’s Indian Ocean coastline is one of the most spectacular on the planet, with mile after mile of stunning white sand beach as far as the eye can see. The relaxed atmosphere here is perfect for chilling out after a safari, or for enjoying a beach holiday in its own right.
The City of Mombasa is at the heart of the coast, and is an historic port that’s well worth exploring. Beach resorts extend to the north and south of the city, with those to the south offering a relaxed vibe and some of the most beautiful beaches imaginable. The North Coast has more action taking place, so is perfect for those looking for a little more activity. Further north again, the resorts of Watamu and Malindi are located at a marine national park and are a more relaxed alternative to the North Coast.
On Safari in Kenya
Kenya is truly home to the greatest wildlife show on earth, and a safari holiday or honeymoon here will take your breath away. The Annual Migration takes place each year between July and October, when a million or two extra wildebeest, zebra and other animals make their way from the Serengeti to the Masai Mara in search of food. This is one of the best times to visit Kenya, but don't worry if you’re travelling at other times as there’s plenty of action year-round.
Kenya is home to an array of national parks and game reserves, each with its own characteristics. The Masai Mara is perhaps the most famous along with Amboseli and Samburu, while lesser-visited areas such as Meru and Shaba are just as rewarding. Combining a few different areas will really show the diversity of the landscapes and wildlife, and will give you a truly African experience!
