In the small Meemu Atoll, 45 minutes by seaplane from Malé airport.

Almost all of the bungalows here are overwater, with a line of tented white roofs following the curve of the south side of the island. The Water Bungalows have a glass floor viewing window and steps down into the lagoon. For those who’d prefer to be on land, there are ten Beach Bungalows amongst the palm trees.

Facilities at the Chaaya Lagoon Hakuraa Huraa

The shallow lagoon here is so large that you’ll need to board a boat to discover the Meemu Atoll’s best marine life, but the local dive sites are some of the finest and least visited in the Maldives. Whale sharks can be seen between mid-May and mid-December, and manta rays inhabit the waters for most of the year. Free morning and afternoon boat trips are provided for snorkelling – the afternoon visits tend to be quieter.

Malaafaiy is the resort’s spacious indoor restaurant offering buffet-style dining, and you can enjoy beverages and light snacks at the Nalha Falhu Lounge & Bar with views over the lagoon. Private dining options include candlelit dinners on the beach.
