ITINERARY

Day 1 - Depart

Fly from Heathrow to Arusha, arriving next day. Regional departures from around the UK are also available.

Day 2 - Arusha

You’ll be met on arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport and transferred to your accommodation for a day at leisure. Arusha Coffee is an exclusive boutique lodge set in Tanzania's largest coffee plantation, and has been designed around the farm's original plantation homes. Overnight: Arusha Coffee Lodge (lunch and dinner included).

Day 3 - Tarangire

After breakfast at your lodge drive to Tarangire National Park (130 km), arriving in time for lunch at your lodge. Tarangire Treetops sits alone in the private game reserve bordering Tarangire National Park and the Masai Steppe amid rolling, baobab-studded hills, with views to Lake Manyara and the Rift Valley wall. After lunch a game drive will introduce you to this beautiful game reserve. Overnight: Elewana Tarangire Treetops (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).

Day 4 - Tarangire

Today you’ll enjoy early morning and afternoon game drives in Tarangire National Park, returning to your lodge for lunch and to relax in between. Optional activities such as game walks and night game drives are available at an extra cost. Tarangire is home to an incredible variety of wildlife, especially during the dry season when it’s home to amongst the highest concentration of wildlife in Tanzania. The area is dotted with Baobab trees, and is home to elephant, zebra, wildebeest and hartebeest. Overnight: Elewana Tarangire Treetops (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).

Day 5 - Ngorongoro

After breakfast drive to Karatu and the Ngorongoro Highlands (200 km), arriving in time for lunch at your lodge, the beautiful Elewana The Manor at Ngorongoro. The property was one of the first German-Dutch settler farm homes in the Ngorongoro Highlands and has been totally rebuilt, retaining it’s atmosphere of an elegant, up-country farm home in the Cape Dutch style architecture. Overnight: Elewana The Manor At Ngorongoro (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).

Day 6 - Ngorongoro

After breakfast you’ll head to the incredible Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day visit (50 km). The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the richest wildlife areas in East Africa and is an extinct volcano that teems with elephants, rhinos, wildebeest, zebras, buffaloes, gazelles and big cats. If time permits you’ll also visit a local Masai village to experience a slice of local life. Overnight: Elewana The Manor At Ngorongoro (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).

Day 7 - Serengeti

After breakfast it’s a fairly long but very rewarding drive to the Serengeti National Park (270 km). A brief stop is made at the Olduvai Gorge, and you’ll have a picnic lunch en route, arriving at your camp in the late afternoon. Hidden among the rocky outcrops of the Serengeti plains, the gorgeous Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp exudes decadence reminiscent of old Africa. Richly furnished throughout, the camp provides a haven of sumptuous indulgence among the raw splendours of the surrounding bush. Overnight: Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).

Day 8 - Serengeti

Today you’ll really get to know the Serengeti with morning and afternoon game drives in what is one of the most famous game reserves in the world. The endless plains of the Serengeti are home to an incredible variety of wildlife, with stunning views at every turn. Overnight: Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).

Day 9 - Arusha

It’s an early start today with an early morning game drive, followed by breakfast back at the camp. Later you’ll transfer to the airstrip (30 km) for your flight by light aircraft to Arusha (approximately 1 hour). and have lunch at a local restaurant. Later, transfer to the airport for your onward travel arrangements (breakfast and lunch included).

This itinerary is based on full board with drinks (excluding Champagne, exclusive cellar wines and premium brands).

On the Elewana Safari by Road, transfers and game drives are conducted by your own personal driver-guide throughout your safari, in a standard 4-wheel drive safari vehicle.

On occasion the itinerary may operate in a different order, or different lodges used according to availability and road conditions.

Travel times vary on road conditions and game sightings.

Pack a mixture of warm and light clothing in soft bags, plus sunglasses, camera and insect repellent.

Light aircraft baggage allowance is 15 kg - soft sided bags must be used.
