ITINERARY

Day 1 - Depart

Fly from Heathrow to Arusha, arriving next day. Regional departures from around the UK are also available.

Day 2 - Arusha

You’ll be met on arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport and transferred to your accommodation for lunch, and an afternoon at leisure. Arusha Coffee is an exclusive boutique lodge set in Tanzania's largest coffee plantation, and has been designed around the farm's original plantation homes. A complimentary upgrade to a Plantation Suite is included for your stay here. Overnight: Arusha Coffee Lodge (lunch and dinner included).

Day 3 - Tarangire

After breakfast at your lodge enjoy a Bean-To-Cup coffee estate tour, followed by an alfresco lunch in the grounds of the Arusha Coffee Lodge. It’s then a short transfer to Arusha airport for your 20 minute light aircraft flight with Elewana Sky to the Kuro airstrip in Tarangire National Park. On arrival at the airstrip you’ll enjoy a game drive through the park on the way to your lodge. Tarangire is home to an incredible variety of wildlife, especially during the dry season when it’s home to amongst the highest concentration of wildlife in Tanzania. The area is dotted with Baobab trees, and is home to elephant, zebra, wildebeest and hartebeest. Dinner ins in a traditional Masai boma at the camp. Overnight: Elewana Tarangire Treetops (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).

Day 4 - Tarangire

After breakfast at the camp head out on an early morning game drive in Tarangire National Park After lunch at the lodge visit a traditional Masai village, followed by sundowners in the bush. Tarangire Treetops sits alone in the private game reserve bordering Tarangire National Park and the Masai Steppe amid rolling, baobab-studded hills, with views to Lake Manyara and the Rift Valley wall. Overnight: Elewana Tarangire Treetops (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).

Day 5 - Ngorongoro

After breakfast you’ll discover more of Tarangire’s wildlife on the way back to Kuro airstrip, and a picnic lunch is included on the way. It’s then a short 20 minute flight to Manyara, where you’ll be met and transferred to the beautiful Elewana The Manor at Ngorongoro (approx 1 hour), arriving in time for high tea. The property was one of the first German-Dutch settler farm homes in the Ngorongoro Highlands and has been totally rebuilt, retaining its atmosphere of an elegant, up-country farm home in the Cape Dutch style architecture. Overnight: Elewana The Manor At Ngorongoro (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).

Day 6 – Lake Manyara

After breakfast you’ll head to nearby Lake Manyara National Park, where the lush jungle-like forest is home to hundreds of baboons and blue monkeys while the grassy floodplains and alkaline lake are where thousands of pink flamingos are found. Opt to have a picnic lunch at Lake Manyara or return to the lodge for lunch there. The afternoon is yours to relax, with host of activities available including cycling and horseback riding available. Overnight: Elewana The Manor At Ngorongoro (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).

Day 7 - Ngorongoro

After breakfast you’ll head to the incredible Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of adventure, with a picnic lunch included to make the most of your time on the crater floor. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the richest wildlife areas in East Africa and is an extinct volcano that teems with elephants, rhinos, wildebeest, zebras, buffaloes, gazelles and big cats. Overnight: Elewana The Manor At Ngorongoro (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).

Day 8 - Serengeti

After breakfast you’ll be taken to the Manyara airstrip for the 40 minute light aircraft flight to the Serengeti, where you’ll be met at the airstrip for the journey to your camp. After lunch, an afternoon game drive will introduce you to this incredible region. The Serengeti is one of the most famous game reserves in the world. The endless plains of the Serengeti are home to an incredible variety of wildlife, with stunning views at every turn. Arrive at your camp for sundowners and dinner. Overnight: Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp or Elewana Serengeti Pioneer Camp, depending on the time of year (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).

Day 9 - Serengeti

After breakfast at the camp head out on an early morning game drive in to the Serengeti, with lunch served in the bush. Return to your camp to relax a little, before dinner is served under the stars – a truly special occasion. Hidden among the rocky outcrops of the Serengeti plains, the gorgeous Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp exudes decadence reminiscent of old Africa. Richly furnished throughout, the camp provides a haven of sumptuous indulgence among the raw splendours of the surrounding bush. Overnight: Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp orOvernight: Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp or Elewana Serengeti Pioneer Camp, depending on the time of year (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).

Day 10 - Serengeti

Make the most of your final day on safari with a full day to explore the incredible Serengeti - you’ll enjoy a picnic hamper lunch to make the most of your time, finishing your day with sundowners in the bush before returning to the camp for dinner. The Elewana Serengeti Pioneer Camp is a seasonal camp offering panoramic views over Moru Kopjes, Lake Magadi and the endless plains, maintaining a nod to the mobile camps of the 1930’s. Overnight: Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp or Elewana Serengeti Pioneer Camp, depending on the time of year (breakfast, lunch and dinner included).

Day 11 - Arusha

After breakfast at the camp, a final game drive will take you to the airstrip for the hour-long flight by light aircraft back to Arusha. On arrival you will be met at the airport and transferred to your accommodation, or onwards to Kilimanjaro Airport for your travel arrangements (breakfast included).

This itinerary is based on full board with drinks (excluding Champagne, exclusive cellar wines and premium brands).

Pack a mixture of warm and light clothing in soft bags, plus sunglasses, camera and insect repellent.

Light aircraft baggage allowance is 15 kg - soft sided bags must be used.
