Home to the Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, Embudhu Finolhu is little more than a sand bank in the Indian Ocean, a few hundreds yards long and just a few yards wide – you’re never more than a few paces from the stunning Indian Ocean. This is a small resort so you’re not likely to be bumping in to too many people, but for a true Robinson Crusoe experience, take a boat over to Maadhu Finolhu, an uninhabited sandbank, and really get away from it all!
Nearer to Embudhu Finolhu itself, a small platform allows snorkellers to experience the underwater side of the island up close - the island is surrounded by a shallow lagoon, but just beyond the open sea quickly becomes a myriad of colourful coral and more colourful fish. The resort's boat will take you out here fore some snorkelling where you seem to have even the Indian Ocean to yourself! |
