SUGGESTED ITINERARY
Day 1 - UK to Sydney
Fly from London to Sydney, arriving the next day.
Days 2-5 - Sydney
On arrival make your way from the airport to your chosen hotel, for a four night stay - we have a range of hotels to choose from, and your length of stay in Sydney is flexible. Spend a few days exploring this diverse city, and try to take in some of the ethnic districts that give Sydney its unique mix of cultures - start in Chinatown, not far south of the city centre, and work your way through a myriad of cultures that call Sydney home.
Day 6 - Sydney to Melbourne
Make your way back to Sydney airport for your flight to Melbourne. On arrival, make your way to your chosen hotel for a three night stay - as with all of our destinations we have a range of hotel options available.
Days 7-8 - Melbourne
Spend a few days getting to know Melbourne, which buzzes day and night thanks to its high amount of city-centre living. There’s a huge array of places to eat and drink, with various rooftop bars being superb at sunset - head to Fed Square to check things out.
Day 9 - Melbourne to Ayers Rock
Make your way back to Melbourne airport for your flight to Ayers Rock, in the heart of Australia. On arrival, collect your car at the depot for your short drive to your resort. Check in to your chosen hotel for a two night stay.
Day 10 - Ayers Rock
Spend the day exploring the extraordinary Ayers Rock area - the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park has the world-renowned Ayers Rock - Uluru - at its heart, while the Olgas - Kata Tjuta - may be less well-known but are just as mesmerising.
Day 11 - Ayers Rock to Kings Canyon
Today drive through the heart of Australia's Red Centre from Ayers Rock to the Kings Canyon (approx 235 km / 4 hours 30 mins). Take the Lasseter Highway and allow a stop at the Mount Conner lookout (many visitors coming from the other direction mistake Mount Conner for Ayers Rock itself!) And on along Luritja Road to Kings Canyon. This is one of the most spectacular sights in Australia, a huge chasm in Watarrka National Park, and the 2km Kings Creek Walk will give you a great introduction to the area. On arrival check in to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 12 - Kings Canyon to Alice Springs
We’d suggest an early start to walk the 6km Kings Canyon Walk, but be aware of soaring temperatures and allow 4 hours. It’s then a long drive (approx 475 km / hours) back along Luritja Road and the Lasseter Highway to Erlundam, and up the Stuart Highway in to Alice Springs. It’s worth noting that alternative routes are only suitable for 4x4 vehicles. On arrival in to Alice Springs check in to your hotel for a two night stay.
Day 13 - Alice Springs
Spend today exploring Alice Springs, or simply relaxing at your hotel. Climb Anzac Hill for great views - particularly at sunrise and sunset - or spend a few hours at the Araluen Cultural Precinct, the town’s cultural hub.
Day 14 - Alice Springs to Cairns
Drive to Alice Springs airport, drop off your car and check in for your flight to Cairns. On arrival, make your way to your chosen hotel for a five night stay - your duration here is completely flexible so if you’d like a longer or shorter stay just ask!
Days 15-18 - Cairns
You have a few days to explore Cairns or just relax in this laid-back resort - there’s a huge variety of activities available from reef trips to skydiving, loads of places to eat and a great buzz in the evening.
Day 19 - Return
Make your way to Cairns airport for your return flight to the UK, arriving the next day.
