Welcome to Phnom Penh

Cambodia's capital is a fascinating mix of old and new, traditional and modern, in a country with a varied history. Today, Phnom Penh leads the Country towards a new era, with a lively and vibrant feel, most notably around the riverfront at Sisowath Quay, overlooking the mighty Mekong River. Spend a few days exploring the markets, temples and historic sites of Phnom Penh.

What to do in Phnom Penh

Cambodia's history is very evident in Phnom Penh, with the Royal Palace and National Museum giving an insight in to the past. Out of town, however, are stark reminders of Cambodia's more recent history, where the Killing Fields and other reminders of Pol Pot's reign can be seen

Where to stay in Phnom Penh

Phnom Penh has a reasonable selection of hotels available, with many around Wat Phnom or on the riverfront. Standards tend to be good

Holiday ideas to Phnom Penh

We'd suggest combining a few days in Phnom Penh with sightseeing at Angkor, an hours flight apart, and this can easily be added to other areas of the Far East, such as Thai beaches, Malaysia or Singapore. From Phnom Penh, transfer to Sihanoukville for a relaxing end to your sightseeing. Alternatively, take a look at our tours and multi centre holiday ideas for combining Cambodia with other areas of Indochina.
