WELCOME |
The
island of Phuket is Thailand's most visited resort - and for
good reason. This beautiful island has numerous white sand
beaches interspersed with magnificent headlands, while the
lush interior is hilly and varied. The area around Phuket
has some stunning scenery and some undiscovered corners. Made
famous by films such as 'The Man with the Golden Gun' and
'The Beach', the coastline in the region is spectacular. |

WHAT
TO DO |
Phuket's
numerous beaches are perfect for a relaxing beach holiday, and
there's plenty to do - other than relaxing! Most of the resorts
offer a good range of water sports, and diving is particularly
good in the surrounding area. Phuket Town makes an interesting
visit for a slice of Thai life away from the beaches. There's
excellent shopping in Phuket Town and in the main beach resorts
- and don't forget the fabulous Thai food! |
WHERE
TO STAY |
Stay
in the lively beach resort of Patong for a fun filled holiday
with great evening entertainment. Nearby beach resorts such
at Kata and Karon are more peaceful options for relaxing beach
holidays in Phuket, but with easy access to Patong's nightlife.
Elsewhere on the island, more peaceful locations offer Phuket's
wonderful white sand beaches, and are perfect for a truly relaxing
holiday. The renowned Laguna Resort Phuket offers five hotels of excellent standards and is a great family
option. There's an impressive range of hotels available, from
great value options to five star luxury. Standards of hotels
tend to be very good, and a warm welcome is assured. |
HOLIDAY
IDEAS |
Beach
holidays in Phuket can be combined with time elsewhere in Thailand
or combining Phuket with other parts of the Far East. A twin
centre holiday combining Bangkok and Phuket works extremely
well, or a multi centre holiday combining Bangkok, Chiang Mai
and Phuket gives a great view of Thailand. It's also possible
to combine Phuket and Singapore or Phuket and Hong Kong - most
things are possible! |
GETTING
THERE |
Phuket
is about an hour's flight south of Bangkok, with regular connections
every day. Flights to Bangkok are available from various UK
airports - holidays shown here are based on direct flights from
Heathrow, for the most straightforward journey. Flights from
Gatwick and Manchester are available, often at a lower price,
while departures from other UK airports are also available. |
